Enjoy Downtown Lafayette with a Drink in Hand! Lafayette’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) allows you to sip and stroll through downtown with your favorite alcoholic beverage from participating businesses. Whether you're enjoying a night out, attending an event, or just taking in the city’s charm, DORA offers a fun and responsible way to enhance your experience.
Where Can You Go?
The DORA zone includes key areas of Downtown Lafayette. Look for official signage and maps to ensure you’re within the permitted zone.
How It Works
- Purchase a drink from a participating DORA establishment.
- Enjoy your drink while exploring within the clearly marked DORA boundaries.
- Dispose of your cup properly when finished—no refills or bringing your own alcohol allowed.
DORA Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 5 PM – 10 PM
- Friday: 5PM – 11 PM
- Saturday: 12PM - 11PM
- Sunday: 12PM - 10PM
Where You Can Walk with Your Drink
DORA boundaries are clearly marked with signs throughout downtown. A map of the designated area can be found here. Please note that drinks must remain outdoors and cannot be taken into businesses unless specified by the establishment.
DORA Rules & Guidelines
To keep DORA fun and safe for everyone:
- Must be 21+ to participate (bring valid ID).
- Stay within the marked boundaries—no outside alcohol permitted.
- Be respectful—no public intoxication or disruptive behavior.
- Dispose of your cup before entering non-participating businesses.
All State of Indiana and City of Lafayette laws apply, including those prohibiting public intoxication, impaired driving, and serving alcohol to minors.
