For use of and service rendered by the waterworks system of the City, based on the use of water supplied by said waterworks system:

All Water utility customers served water within city limits will pay a Fire Protection Fee based on meter size. See City Ordinances (2007) for more detail | |

Water furnished to temporary users such as contractors, circuses, etc., shall be charged on the basis of the metered gallon rates hereinbefore set forth as estimated by the Waterworks Superintendent |
Schedule of Water Rates and Charges - Part H Tapping Fees |
Each user, at the time he is connected with the waterworks system, shall pay a charge to cover the costs of tapping the main, furnishing and laying service pipe, corporation and stop cocks, service and meter box and installing a meter. The Charge for a 5/8 or 3/4 inch meter tap shall be $600.00. The charge for a tap larger than 5/8 or 3/4 inch meter will be the cost of labor and materials, but not less than $600.00. |

When the service is turned off for non-payment of bill, or whenever for any reason beyond the control of the waterworks a re- establishment of services is required by any one customer, the charge will be made by the waterworks to cover the cost of discontinuance and re-establishment of service. The charge, together with any arrears due the waterworks, shall be paid by the customer before service will be re-established. |

Said deposit shall be made by the customer making application for the respective service, and who shall be responsible for the monthly billings. Said respective deposits, less the amount of any current and/or delinquent bills owing, shall be refunded to said customer at such time as said customer requests disconnection or termination of the respective service. |
Schedule of Water Rates and Charges - Part L Collection and Deferred Payment Charges |
All bills for service not paid within fifteen days from the due date thereof, as stated in such bills, shall be subject to the collection or deferred payment charge of 10% on the first $3.00 and 3% on the excess over $3.00. |

Pay-by-Phone Option: Please call 833-252-1659. You will need the account and customer number located on your statement.
Pre-Authorized Bank Draft: Each month on the due date, your payment will be automatically deducted from you bank account. There are multiple ways you can sign up for bank draft.
- Citizen Self Service Portal. This is the easiest and quickest way to sign up or update bank draft information. Click the "Make a Payment" icon above.
- Completing the online form and attaching a copy of a blank or voided check. Click here to access the form.

*Please Note: Bank draft requests must be in place before the statement has come out for the month. If your request is received after the statement comes out, it will start on the next billing cycle.

24-Hour Drop Box:
Located on the west side of the building at the drive-up window, enter from Columbia Street. A second drop box is located inside near the police entrance on the south side of the building.
Mail: You may mail check or money order to PO Box 1688, Lafayette, IN, 47902-1688. Please make them out to City of Lafayette. Also include the top portion of the statement and write account number on your check.

Renters/Buying on Contract (New and Existing Residents) - If you are renting or buying on contract, select this application. This includes existing residents with service in their name.
Buying/Owning (New Residents) - If you are purchasing a property, and you are new to the City of Lafayette or you have never had service in your name.
Buying/Owning (Existing Residents) - If you are purchasing a property or already own the property, and you currently have service or have had service in your name in the past.
Commercial Applications
Renting/Buying on Contract (New and Existing) - Businesses that are renting, buying on contract, or have had a name or EIN change.
Buying/Owning (New) - Businesses purchasing or already own a property. If you currently have service and the business name or Tax ID has changed, complete this application.
Buying/Owning (Existing) - Businesses purchasing or already own a property, and currently has service or have had service under the same business name or Tax ID. If the business name or Tax ID has changed, fill out Buy/Owning (New) application.
