The following text is an email sent from Mayor Roswarski to all City personnel.  This is being shared in an effort to keep all of our citizens fully informed on the precautions and necessary steps local governement is taking with employees and policy to ensure the continuation of services during the COVID-19 situation:

"With the increased apprehensions over the COVID-19 virus we want to ensure our employees we are taking precautions and making conscious efforts to monitor and address concerns as they arise. Please continue to follow reliable resources to stay current and up to date on important information, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Tippecanoe County Health Department for local information. Please be sure to use sound judgment when battling sickness and illnesses, if you are sick, please stay home. Remember to practice good hygiene by washing your hands regularly, avoid touching your face and respect personal space of others.

At this time, we are requesting, any employee whom has traveled out of the United States in the last 3-4 weeks, please let Human Resources know the dates of travel and the destination of your trip. 

We are also requesting any employee whom has plans to travel out of the Country for spring break, please let Human Resources know dates of travel and the destination of your trip. 

Please be sure to watch for signs and symptoms of illness while traveling. If you develop symptoms, per the CDC, which may appear 2-14 days after exposure, such as fever, cough or shortness of breath or if you have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19, please do not return to work when you are back from your trip until you have spoken with your Department Head or Human Resources.

If you suspect you are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, per the CDC you should stay home (except to receive necessary medical treatment), avoid public areas, avoid public transportation, stay away from others as much as possible, wash your hands often with soap and water, use hand sanitizer products that are 60% alcohol based and avoid touching your face."

**UPDATE May 1, 2020: all funds from the $400,000 Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) Small Business Assistance Program impacted by COVID-19 have been allocated for area applicants.

The City of Lafayette is pleased to announce that limited CDBG funds are available to those businesses impacted by COVID-19. Funds are limited and businesses must qualify. Details and application can be found here.
