Delivering Clean Water to You
The City of Lafayette Water Works Plant's chief goal is to provide a high quality product, with uninterrupted efficient service, at the lowest possible cost for it's customers.
The Waterworks Department:
- Pumps and treats water from the underground Teays aquifer.
- Maintains four water towers holding a combined 5 million gallons.
- Upgrades our system, facilities and meters.
- Reads over 29,000 water meters throughout the city, half now by radio.
Lafayette is rated Class 2, by the Insurance Services Office, for water supply and fire protection, which can positively affect property owners’ premiums.
