Beginning 8/13/25 @ 6:30 AM, the road and sidewalk of N 2nd Street between South & Columbia St will be closed. This closure is expected to last for one year. This is for the new Lafayette Riverfront mixed-use 147-unit apartment building and remodel of the existing building. This closure is to ensure the safety of the pedestrians, traffic and construction workers during the completion of this project. There will be lane restrictions on S 9th St daily from 8am-5pm between Veterans Memorial Pkwy and Twyckenham Blvd until 5/31/2026. J and J Electric working for Duke Energy will be doing utility work for the upcoming road widening/roundabout project for the City.
