Columbian Park Zoo offers Black Friday sale on memberships, holiday gifts
LAFAYETTE, IN – November 17, 2022 - The Columbian Park Zoo (CPZ) has announced that a Black Friday sale will be offered online Friday, November 25 - Monday, November 28, using promo code BLACKFRIDAY25. The sale will include a 25% discount on memberships, gift memberships, Wild Encounter gift certificates, and new this holiday season, Symbolic Adoptions.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the gift-giving season,” said Assistant Zoo Director Caitlin Laffery. “Purchasers can give the families and children in their lives a unique, thoughtful gift this year all while giving back and supporting Columbian Park Zoo at the same time.”
The Wild Encounters program includes a private meeting with a CPZ Animal Ambassador for up to two people. Purchasers can choose from a select group of Animal Ambassadors for the encounter. Wild Encounters range in price from $50-$85 before the 25% discount.
“We are excited to debut a new gift idea this holiday season with our Symbolic Adoptions,” said Laffery. Symbolic Adoptions offer the community the opportunity to adopt a CPZ animal resident for the season. Animals to choose from include African penguins, two-toed sloths, and North American river otters. Adoptions come with an animal plush, species fact sheet, a keepsake photo of the CPZ animal resident, and name recognition for the adopter. “Symbolic Adoptions are not only a fun learning opportunity for kids, they are also a great way to give back to the zoo as well,” said Laffery. During the Black Friday sale Symbolic Adoptions will be available for $37.50, regularly priced $50.
The Black Friday sale does not exclusively apply to gifts. Laffery added, “It’s also a great time for current members to renew early and take advantage of these big savings.”
In addition to the holiday sale, the community has another CPZ update to get excited about. Columbian Park Zoo will be adding train passes to its membership program for the 2023 season. Family and Grandparent Memberships will now include a 4-pack of train ride passes; Individual Memberships will now include a 2-pack of train ride passes. “The Columbian Park Express Train is such a popular attraction- it’s a favorite part of visiting the zoo for much of our community,” said Zoo Director Neil Dale. “We wanted to increase the value of our membership program and give our members even more perks to enjoy.” Any memberships purchased or renewed during the Black Friday sale will include this new benefit.
