Blues legend Buddy Guy is coming to Loeb Stadium on July 18!
A true pioneer of the Chicago blues sound, Grammy Award-winning Buddy Guy has been hailed as one of the greatest guitarists of all time - and he's bringing his “Damn Right Farewell” tour to Loeb Stadium Friday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. Buddy Guy’s special guest artist for the Lafayette date is Taj Farrant, a 16-year-old Australian blues prodigy.
Buddy Guy’s latest album, “The Blues Don’t Lie,” is his seventh #1 album. He is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and a major influence on rock titans like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. Buddy Guy has received 8 GRAMMY Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award, 38 Blues Music Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him #23 in its "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."
Buddy Guy’s special guest artist for the July 18 concert is Taj Farrant, a 16-year-old Australian blues guitarist. The teen prodigy competed on “Australia’s Got Talent,” and has appeared on stage with Carlos Santana, Rob Thomas, and Orianthi. His 2023 single “Crossroads” hit #1 on both the U.S. and Australian blues charts. He has 283,000 subscribers on YouTube, 915,000 followers on Facebook and 88,000 followers on Instagram.
