Mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), this program is essential for protecting public health and providing peace of mind about the water you rely on every day.
Through this program, we have identified 3,200 homes in Lafayette with lead service lines that need replacement. Over the next ten years, we will replace these lines at no cost to property owners. This ambitious project requires the cooperation of homeowners, tenants, City departments, and contractors, and we’re committed to working together for a smooth process.
The first phase will begin in 2025 in Lafayette’s north end, addressing 867 homes. More information has been mailed to affected property owners; our website at lafayette.in.gov/lslrp has an interactive map for you to look up your property details.
We invite the public, especially those in the initial project area, to learn more by attending one of our upcoming public meetings at McAllister Recreation Center, 2351 N. 20th Street:
- Wednesday, November 20, Noon–1 PM
- Monday, November 25, 6–7 PM
- Thursday, December 5, Noon–1 PM
