Citizens Police Academy

The Lafayette Police Department's Citizen's Academy is an educational outreach program designed to provide citizens a greater understanding of the inner-workings of their police department and of the role that law enforcement plays within the criminal justice system.

The Citizen's Academy meets 1 evening per week for 9-weeks, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. These classroom sessions are held in the City Council Chambers located at 20 N 6th St, Lafayette, IN. In addition to the classroom sessions, participants are encouraged to participate in "ride-alongs" with our patrol officers, allowing for a real-life perspective on contemporary policing.

Registration for our spring session is now live.  To register visit: Lafayette Police Citizens Academy

Class size is limited so register early.  The fall session will begin on September 1st.
